Powell Elementary School is a bilingual, Title 1, majority hispanic school located in Ward 4 of Washington DC. Powell has made great academic strides over the past 5 years, thanks to the dedication and efforts of the teachers, administrators, parents and (of course!) students. We are poised to make even greater academic gains this year, and it is time to turn our attention to making the future of the school even brighter. We need a top of the line facility to help us in our efforts to take our kids to the next level! The master plan that has already been presented to the parents and staff of the school is currently only 25% funded, with no well-defined indications of when full funding (and completion of the project) can be anticipated. Please, join us in our request that the DC Government fully fund this badly needed and well deserved renovation and expansion - for the children of Powell Elementary School!
