Cyfair ISD taxpayers do not want their 20% homestead exemption removed

Cyfair ISD taxpayers do not want their 20% homestead exemption removed
The Issue
Whereas, the Berry Center is an example of big government waste at the local level. We need good teachers.....not Taj Mahal Administrative sports venues that cost taxpayers extreme amounts of money. We expect leaders to do what is best for the community....not put up bond referendums and have teachers and administrators vote for them while taxpayers are too busy making ends meet working to pay taxes.
Whereas, CYFAIR ISD has good teachers.....but administrators propose monuments to debt in the form of bonds which finance unnecessary structures with their names on them. Whatever happened to naming schools after soldiers who risked their lives and often gave their lives for freedom in the USA?
Whereas, Don Ryan, Bob Covey, and John Ogletree were reelected in November 2010 on a platform that highlighted their voting to keep the homestead exemption previously.....despite the recommendation of Superintendent David Anthony to get rid of it and raise taxes for CyFair ISD taxpayers.
Whereas, taxpayers must cut our budgets and live within our means. Why should cyfair ISD not do the same?
Whereas, as long as Administrators and teachers are not informed about the reasons for the economic crisis......why should we trust them with more tax dollars? The reason we have economic crisis is because we no longer have sound money. We have debt money that is based on a confidence game. As citizens lose confidence in our leaders with the proposals of higher taxes they will lose confidence in the currency and when they lose confidence in the currency they will get rid of the currency and when the currency is "dumped" the government will have to print more of it to fund government. The results will be hyperinflation and a destruction of our economy and the taxpayer.
Whereas, raising taxes on taxpayers in cyfair isd will put more taxpayers in foreclosure thus reducing property values and providing for less tax revenue. In effect......removing the homestead exemption FIRES TAXPAYERS IN CYFAIR ISD.
Resolved, we the taxpayers of cyfair isd demand that cyfair isd board of trustees vote to retain our 20% homestead exemption.
