We, the residents of Chicago’s Near North neighborhood, support the development of the 11 acres of land at 1400-1550 N Larrabee, Chicago, IL, into a park and open space.

There is a significant lack of open green space in the Near North neighborhood. At this time, we have only 17 acres of green space which is significantly below the 2010 goal of 45 acres required by the City of Chicago’s 1998 Space Plan. Quality green space in an urban neighborhood is vital to the health of its people, businesses and long term viability.

We demand that the City of Chicago set aside this land and develop it into a park and open space that can be used by all
