Memphis and Tennessee have been facing strong opposition towards all aspects of equal rights for the LGBT community. This hurts the weakest and youngest of us in the community more than anyone else. With the involvement by such amazing local sports heros as those with the Memphis Grizzlies, I truly believe we can speak volumes about how supportive the South truly is of the LGBT community no matter what the local civic leaders proclaim. I can't imagine how amazing it would be for a young person to hear the voice of a member of the Grizz speaking out against bullying and for being yourself... I hope we can find out. As some of us already know, it truly does get better.
