Convince Obama and McCain to Attend the Ohio Presidential Candidates Forum on Disability Issues
The Issue
Convince Obama and McCain to attend the July 26th Ohio Presidential Candidates Forum American Association for People with Disabilities have been trying to get Obama and McCain to confirm, to attend the Ohio Presidential Candidates Forum, yet neither have yet confirmed.
Over a thousand Americans with disabilities and their friends and family will attend the event, and to commemorate the 18th anniversary of our civil rights law, the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The forum will feature time slots for the presidential candidates to individually present their visions for the future of disability policy in America.
The problem is .. neither Obama nor McCain have confirmed to attend this event, and it is only four weeks away.
This is the chance for voters with disabilities to discuss their issues with our future president of America.
We cannot let this opportunity slide.
This is Your Opportunity to Take Charge: Convince Obama and McCain to Attend The Event
How You Can Help
Submit a letter to the presidential candidates: Click on the link below to do so https://secure2.convio.net/ucpact/site/Advocacy?JServSessionIdr009=rm60qw3in1.app44b&cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=134 Write a (pre-written) letter to the political candidates, and let them know how important it is for them to attend the forum on July 26th. This website will make it very easy for you to do so. All you have to do is enter your name, and address and there is a pre-written letter . Feel free to edit it, and add your own personal stories. They will more likely be read if you put in your own personal story, whether you have a disability or if you know someone with a disability.
Every little bit helps.
Take action for a better America for people with disabilities.
