The Senate has adjourned for its annual August recess, putting health care reform legislation on the shelf until they return in September.

But don't be fooled – this isn't time for relaxing. Throughout the next month, opponents of health care reform will be trying to defeat this effort at all costs.

We must not let that happen.

Email your senators now and tell them to ignore the scare tactics and remember the millions who are relying on reform.

This "recess" is no break for those of us fighting for health care reform. We will be turning up the volume on members of Congress throughout the month, but we have to start now before they even leave Washington. It is critical that our senators know we are paying attention.

Our opponents are working nonstop to make sure a bill never gets passed. You can be certain they will do everything they can to put pressure on your senators to waver, to hesitate, or to entirely give up on meaningful health care reform. They will stop at nothing.

And they see the August recess as their window of opportunity. We can't stand by as these special interests try to bully your senators out of supporting reform.
