Repeal the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998

The Issue

The Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998 added 20 years to the already lengthy term of life + 50 years or 70 years for corporate authorship. This act was commonly called the Mickey Mouse Protection Act since it prevented early Mickey Mouse works from falling into the public domain. The public domain is an essential part of the the artistic community and was used extensively by Walt Disney in its formative years. Tell Congress to repeal the extension.
