A Letter From Dane:

The toughest test comes after graduation or so I have learned. My name is Dane and I am on the 99% plan. One monthly payment for the next 20 years. That's $274,802.04 to be exact. A high price to pay for a quality public education.

Imagine yourself as a middle class college graduate who took out $150,000 in loans to go to college, got good grades, and has graduated into an economy that doesn’t seem to want you. You did everything you were told to do, and it didn’t work out. That hurts, of course, but it’s a bad economy, and everybody is suffering. At least, that’s what they say.

I decided to rethink my payment plan after reading about a New York woman who paid off nearly $20,000 in credit card debt in a matter of 4 months by asking for online donations. I figured if  she could get strangers to pay of her frivolous credit  card debt then why can't I get good people to help me pay down my student loans? With this thought in mind, I built and launched SaveDane.com in November 2011 with my last $10.

I created SaveDane.com in hopes of paying off a portion of my college debt or at least finding a good paying job ( hence the Hire Me tab). In the process, I hope to make a simple but very important point:  there are many more people in the world just like me.
