We are in a position in this country to be an example to the world. To end the exploitation and suffering of animals which in turn, will be better for the animals, better for our health and better for the environment. There is so much that the public doesn't know in regards to the way "meat" is processed in this country. As bad as the conditions are for animals in the U.S. - it's even worse in countries where animals don't have any rights what so ever. We are not a native people who are living off the land to feed our families and to survive. We have grocery stores and thousands of food choices at our disposal that we don't HAVE to eat meat. We only do so because we want to NOT because we have to. Let's not add to the inhumane treatment of another species by allowing this ban to be lifted - and let's do one better by letting OUR government know that we won't tolerate the shipping of these sensitive and intelligent creatures to other countries to be slaughtered unnecessarily.
