Comfort Food For All
Easy Resolutions for 2009!
Sponsored by: The Hunger Site
We all look forward to our favorite comfort food, like the special dish made from Grandmother's secret recipe. This year, let's resolve to spread that comfort and abundance to others, here at home and around the globe.
Comfort and joy! I'm happy to pledge to:
1) Put one locally grown item on my holiday table this year.
2) Make at least one donation to my local food bank
3) Learn one new thing about the global food crisis and pass that information along to at least one friend.
Tips to help you achieve this pledge:
If you are fortunate enough to live in an area with a year round farmers market or CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), you're all set on the first pledge! If not, don't forget dried and frozen versions of local produce, or other foods that are made locally, such as cheese or wine.Your local grocery store may provide an opportunity to donate food to a local food bank.
