Society is not served by imposing a lifetime sentence for non-violent felonies.  In our computer age, mistakes can haunt a person long after restitution has been made and the sentence is served.  Society will reap benefits if there is a full path for forgiveness for non-violent offenders.  Repeat offenses will be less likely, it will save the Colorado money, and the offender will have an opportunity to more effectively contribute to Colorado.
