There is already an unofficial trail that leads up to "Rattlesnake Ridge." The trail is and has been frequented by a number of photography enthusiasts where some of the most iconic views of Garden of the Gods may be obtained. "Rattlesnake Ridge" is one of the best areas in the entire Colorado Springs community to observe and photograph the area's unique light and weather patterns. Photographers know and understand that in order to capture aesthecially pleasing images, repeated visits to areas are often necessary. A walk on "Rattlesnake Ridge will show that individuals who frequent the area are quite serious about maintaining the pristine nature as evidenced by the complete lack of trash or willful damage. The views from "Rattlesnake Ridge" are spectacular and are a treasure that should not be denied to the public, keeping with the spirit of the Palmer family donation of the park, "where it shall remain free to the public."
