Approve the Grandview Commons Town Center

I just signed the following petition addressed to: The City of Madison Wisconsin.

I SUPPORT the building of the Town Center, to be located in the Grandview Commons neighborhood, and includes the proposed 58,000 square foot grocery store. I understand the proposed changes set forth by the developers and land owner (which is currently in review with the city and people of Madison) calls for an increase to the currently approved grocery store size and changes to the traffic patterns to accommodate the town center’s sustainability and safety. I agree this will create a viable solution for a long-term partner to anchor themselves in our community and encourage other great businesses to join the future vision and community.

I feel the passing of the amendments for the development of the Grandview Commons Town Center will create local jobs and additional tax revenue for the city that can be used towards programs that will benefit everyone. The development is also necessary in building and sustaining the proposed city library in Grandview Commons, which is important to the local community. My support is important because my vote shows that I believe the Grandview Commons Town Center completion is essential in maintaining the new urbanism concept in which the neighborhood was created. The neighborhood design originated with green-concepts in mind and healthy lifestyle choices local to the community. All of which, are a few reasons why I chose to live here.

Please join me in approving the proposed changes and keep a “Healthy Madison” in mind when you think of the people living In Grandview Commons and the surrounding neighborhoods.
