According to a city ordinance, only a mother, a father, and up to three children can purchase a family pool pass to the Heise Park pool. The ordinance excludes many families of Galion who do not fit into its narrow definition, including families consisting of grandparents raising grandchildren and same-sex couples with children. The exclusion puts an extra financial burden on these families and denies them the respect and recognition given to traditional families. We are asking Galion to amend their policy to be more inclusive. Our proposal is to allow up to five individuals sharing a residence to be able to purchase a family pass.
