The Puerto Ricans living in the community of Humboldt Park are being discriminated based on past incidents that happened in the 60's and 70's. It is unjustifiable for the Liquor Commissioner Mr. Steadman to grant Riot Fest a liquor license for their event when both are hold in the same community of Humboldt Park and the same issues the Chicago Police Department could have with the Puerto Rican Fest is the same issues Chicago Police Department will have with the people coming out of Riot Fest. We feel the presence of five beer dispensers vs one beer garden the Puerto Rican Festival was asking for would overwhelm the police and private security assigned within the fest, and will harm our community with additional violence brought on by the alcohol consumption. We are asking to do the right thing Mr. Steadman DENY Riot Fest a liquor license for their event.
