The city animal shelter in New Braunfels/Comal County, Texas, has been operated for 34 years by the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area. In 2013, in their brand new city-subsidized animal shelter, they killed over 60% of the animals in their care.

Half of the dogs and cats at the shelter are placed in areas that are off-limits to the public, and these pets are not even posted online. Listing all the pets at the shelter online will help more pets be reunited with their families. Nearby city animal shelters list pets online for their residents and allow residents to view them, and New Braunfels taxpayers should get this basic service, too. The citizens of New Braunfels deserve better from this city contractor.
