Recent events on what we believe is the unjust disqualification of Emerson Reyes' MNL 143 (2012) from this year’s edition of Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival because of creative differences in casting, have pushed us to forward this petition. We simply can no longer keep our silence and close our eyes while blatantly unjust acts are being done to filmmakers who only have their vision and soul to share to the country. Reyes’ unjust disqualification from the competition has earned criticism from many members of the film community and we believe that as part of the supporting audience of Cinemalaya, we also have a say in the matter.
