Chipotle can become just a little bit better and more sustainable by simply asking each customer if they need a bag before bagging their food.

Most customers simply do not need a bag for a small to go order, but orders are often bagged before a customer can even ask for it not to be bagged.

Yes, Chipotle's bags are made largely of post-consumer recycled paper and Chipotle is one of the most environmentally conscious restaurant chains around. However, this is precisely why Chipotle should go one step further ask customers if they need a bag, and not assuming that each customer does by default.
