Here in America, we pay tribute to our mothers on Mother's Day, our fathers on Father's Day, our grandparents on Grandparent's Day, our bosses on Boss' Day, teachers on Teacher's Day, certain U.S. presidents on President's Day, our sweethearts on Valentine's Day, even to secretaries on Secretary's Day.  There's no doubt we love our children.  However, as important as our children are to us, we do not pinpoint a special day to recognize their value to us.  Children, like the rest of us, should grow up to feel special and appreciated- with a day to call their own- just like parents, grandparents, sweethearts, bosses, and the like.  Some may say that Christmas is children's day, but it's not.  Christmas symbolizes the birth of Christ.  Children are not the only ones who receive presents on Christmas.  Some may say we recognize children on their birthdays.  Well, we recognize everyone on their birthday.  We need to select just one day of the year to let our children, our future/legacies know how much they mean to us, and how much we value and appreciate them.
