Change Your Sunscreen

Change Your Sunscreen

The Issue

Every year, swimmers leave 4,000 to 6,000 metric tons of sunscreen in the ocean. According to the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, three ingredients found in some sunscreens are harming coral reef fish. These ingredients are paraben, cinnamate, benzophenone and a camphor derivative. You don't have to go for a super expensive eco-brand to stop harming fish. Aveeno sunblock spray is one of the many sunscreens that don't have these ingredients.

Change your sunscreen to one that doesn't contain coral reef fish harming araben, cinnamate, benzophenone and a camphor derivative.
