You can go down to the court house and change your name but unless you have surgery, a doctors note and money you can not change your gender, why?

If I am a pre-op transgender and I have changed my name I should be able to change my gender.

Lets tell our government and doctors we are not going to take strong arm tactics any more, we live in America and have the right to life liberty and the persuit of happiness.
