Presently, seven stations in the Tar Heel Sports Network--WRDU in Raleigh, WPTI in Greensboro, WSPC in Albemarle, WGBR in Goldsboro, WHKP in Hendersonville, WCAB in Rutherfordton, and WSIC in Statesville--also carry Rush Limbaugh's show.

For some time, there has been reason to question whether Limbaugh's values are consistent with those embodied by UNC and the Tar Heel athletic program. However, Limbaugh's recent ugly and misogynistic attacks on Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke should erase any doubt. Rather than apologize for smearing Fluke as a "slut" and a "prostitute," Limbaugh has ramped up his attacks, suggesting that Fluke post videos of her having sex online and hinting that in his day, she'd have men "lined up around the block." Such blatant disrespect for women could not be less consistent with what UNC stands for, and it is unconscionable for a station that airs such programming to be allowed to trade on UNC's good name.

As soon as it is legally possible, UNC must give an ultimatum to the seven Tar Heel Sports Network stations that also carry Limbaugh--choose between carrying Tar Heel basketball and football and carrying Limbaugh.
