We believe that the use of plastic bags is an environmental hazard and that they should be banned. Although plastic bags are popular and convenient, their use creates unnecessary litter and depletes a non-renewable resource (oil). Many cities have begun to eliminate or reduce the use of plastic bags, showing that local action can be effective. Boulder should join these cities by banning plastic bags.
