Carolina Citizens want our Legislators to Change Cannabis/ Hemp Laws
The Issue
The War on Cannabis has caused more harm than the " use" itself. Our tax dollars are being wasted, prisons are overcrowding, our police officials treat us as an enemy, and common sense says it is time to change this for the betterment of society Medically, Industrially, and as an Adult use option that is proven safer than alcohol and caffeine.
Recently the American Medical Association came out in support of our Federal Govt. to reschedule Cannabis due to the overwhelming Research coming out that Cannbis does have medical value and is affecting breast, prostate, and other serious cancers. The Veterans Administration has approved medical Cannabis for our Veterans in the legal states due to a double blind placebo 10 year study that has proven Cannabis is effective for symptoms of PTSD, chronic pain, and Traumatic Brain injury repair. People for years have know that Cannabis affects glaucoma, stops seizures, and helps with aging related illnesses. Medical is inevitable.
But what about others who choose Cannabis over Alcohol that kills us?? Or those of us who have stopped taking so many Legal Pharmaceuticals because of Cannabis and our Health is improving? What about our children, who are being lied to about this plant, and lose College funding behind a posession bust. All kids are going to try to get high on something. You have driven our children to taking pharma and harder drugs because they fear the reprocussions of a Cannabis arrest. You put K-2, synthetic marijuana on the shelves of NC for them to smoke!!! Something is wrong with this picture, and some common sense adults in our Legislature need to wake up and do something about these laws and turn it around.
Our Federal officials who have funded Cannabis Research need to stop lying to the people, and reschedule Cannabis and add it back to the Pharmacopia where it belongs so we can help people who are sick.
The North Carolina Budget could be greatly impacted by changing these Laws in NC. We could empty out non-violent offenders from our prisons who have been incarcerated over a plant, and save the State millions, send them home and let them work and pay taxes like normal people and stop ruining peoples families and lives behind a harmless plant. We could let our Major Research Institutes find the best dosages for the sick, and truly study this amazing plant for a change. Our children who abuse Cannabis should be put in treatment, not jail and no education over it. Our proffessional adults who use recreationally for whatever pleasure should be left alone to do in the privacy of their lives what they please, they are hurting no one, and do not deserve to sacrifice a lifetime career behind a little Cannabis. Our Farmers should be growing our Hemp for products instead of importing it from other countries.. that is just plain common sense with no argument.. Why are our farmers not growing Hemp?? Because of unjust laws against this plant that you can't even overdose on and is considered one of the top two superfoods in the world? SOMETHING IS REALLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE AND IT IS TIME TO CHANGE IT.
We the People petition our Legislators to show us that our Legislators do care.. and create laws in regards to Cannabis that DO NO HARM, treat the people who abuse it, give the medically sick the option of Cannabis Medicine, and let the Farmers grow industrial hemp to save trees, petroleum, and our environment. The answer is a simple one if one educates themselves to Cannabis/Hemp now a mainstream issue across the United States.
Connecticut is building a Hemp bio-fuel plant, Georgia is building warehouses to accomodate Medical Cannabis, 15 states and Washington DC now have legal programs. NC has the first Hemp House in the United States. Millions are being made in the legal states for cities and my question is: What is NC waiting for, the future is Green, and Cannabis/hemp is a part of our green future. The time is now Carolina. End the War.
