Dear Mr. Arison, Mr. Cahill, and Carnival Boardmembers:

I am writing on the behalf of thousands of cruisers to ask that you please bring back the live reggage/calypso bands to your beautiful cruise ships. I still remember my first cruise onboard the Holiday back in 2001 and it was one of the best vacations I'd ever had. The ship was beautiful, the food was exquisite, and I absolutely fell in love with the live reggae/calypso band that would play on the Lido deck every day (and I also enjoyed the bands on other cruises before they were taken away). Over the years I've joined forums and groups on social media for other cruise addicts and Carnival aficionados and I discovered that I am NOT alone!! There are thousands and thousands of other cruisers who also LOVED the live reggae/calypso bands on the Lido deck.

Aside from the DJ's music blaring so loudly on Lido that you can hardly carry on a regular conversation, we can hear the latest hits and Top 40 songs in the club or at home. Once we first step foot on a cruise ship, we are immediately in vacation mode. If we're sailing around the Carribean we want to hear the music too. It's so relaxing, every age group enjoys it (as opposed to the small group who may like hip hop/rock/country), and it makes you happy...sailing on a beautiful ship, the sun is out, I have a Funship Special in my hand (love those), and the live band is singing a Bob Marley cover. That's perfection, that's a vacation! 50 cents and Lil' Wayne are suitable for the club, not the Lido deck.

There have been numerous polls conducted about this, we've pleaded with the beloved John Heald to help bring it back, and we've sent messages and posted about it on your Facebook page to no avail. Carnival Live is a nice addition but it's not the reggae/calypso bands we want. Other cruise lines are still providing these live bands so why not Carnival? We love Carnival and we love cruising with the best so please Carnival, bring back the live bands on Lido and turn a great vacation into an absolutely fantastically awesome one!!
