Wisconsin recently held it's election for the Wisconsin supreme court justice. It was a close and closely watched race on many fronts, one being that the incumbent had publicly stated that he would support the new Govenor, Scott Walker, in his efforts to bring about many controversial changes that have gotten national attention.
This in itself suggests private interest rather that justice.
Four days after the election, initially thought to lean narrowly to the challenger, the Waukesha County clerk discovered enough votes on a Microsoft Access file stored on her personal computer to not only swing the election, but to put the margin of victory beyond the number that would qualify for a publicly funded recount. The clerk who found these votes is a former computer specialist for the Wisconsin Assembly Republican Caucus. She held this position when the incumbent in this race was Republican speaker of the Assembly, making him her boss.
This same clerk was formally investigated in 2001 for a similar scandal involving votes counted, and was given immunity from prosecution in exchange for testimony she provided.
By signing this petition you are asking the U.S Attorney general Mr. Eric Holder to step in and investigate the results of this election.
It is not a matter of Republican or Democrat but a matter of Justice and the integrity of our electoral system that is at stake here.
Federal investigation of the Wisconsin Supreme court election outcome
Greetings,
As citizens of the the United States we are alarmed at what appears to be an abuse of our democratic process regarding the outcome of the recent election for a Supreme court justice in the state of Wisconsin.
This same clerk was investigated in 2001 for a similar scandal involving votes counted, and was given immunity from prosecution in exchange for testimony she provided.
We ask that the U.S Attorney General's office please step in to conduct a formal fair and non biased investigation, or that the results from Waukesha county be declared null and void and a re election be held in Waukesha county that is policed by a non partisan group.
Such action on the part of the Federal Government seems the only option when the democratic process seems to so many to have been completely disregarded.
We the people need our faith back in the system and this would be a step towards renewing that faith.
