Brazilian land-reform activist Pedro Alcantara de Souza was murdered by hired gunmen last week -  almost exactly 5 years after the killing of Dorlthy Stang, 73, a Catholic nun, who was working in  the same area of Brazil for the same cause - to promote the legal acquisition of land by landless farmers in Brazil.  Right now just 1% of the Brazilian population owns over half the arable land in Brazil - and they're not going to share the land with a fight, even if it means killing people, even American nuns. We, along with the rest of the world,should severely sanction Brazil for allowing this atrocity and encourage them to prosecute the corrupt landowners who perpertrated these crimes against humanity, including their own population of landless peasants.
