This is important because our nation is rapidly becoming a corporate based prison society. This petition attempts to address the "prison life as entertainment" concept and to ask our television broadcast networks to stop utilizing "reality based prison life" shows. The consumer should be aware that the reason this form of entertainment is unacceptable is our nation has extremely high rates of incarceration, and the broadcast companies are simply exploiting the cheap production costs in order to air these programs.
