BOYCOTT BASKETBALL WIVES S5 AND BULLYING
BOYCOTT BASKETBALL WIVES S5 AND BULLYING
The Issue
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted the conference that gathered more than 100 educators, parents, students, federal officials and researchers for a one-day session exploring the prevalence and impact of bullying, and ways to prevent it. It is important that reality shows on various Networks who encourage bullying to join the fight in preventing Bullying among our youth. Our supports of this show are worn out by the constant cat fighting and negative portrayal of women in general. They say violence is seen as a form of entertainment and the biggest arguments in the show are promoted as teasers to lure viewers in. The message that is being sent across to the young and impressionable audience is that bad behavior and violence can make them eligible for reality shows and turn them into stars overnight or see themselves in behaving as a favorite reality cast member to videotaping and exposing it on YouTube. Teenage girls should be the concern of this show, the rise of violence concerning young teenage women is caused by reality shows such as this one. Do the Networks really care about violence among our youth or are they more worried about the ratings? The media are always saying “We need to protect our children” so why not start with you Viacom and the other Networks may follow.
