Amazon just severed its relationship with thousands of California affiliates because the State of California is requiring the company to collect sales tax for business connected to those affiliates.  Walmart, Home Depot, Safeway, every local business, and all such companies collect and pay this sales tax, which goes to providing education, security and other such public services in the State of California.  Every dollar that Amazon refuses to collect is a dollar that is taken away from California children and citizens. And every dollar they refuse collect also gives Amazon an unfair advantage over neighborhood stores and neighborhood working people.
