Halt proposed marijuana operation at Valmont Rd. & North 75th St.

The Issue

Dear  Friends,

There is a proposed marijuana growing operation planned for the site immediately south of Cure Farm.  Cure Farm is a de facto educational facility in my view; our children attend camp there, and it hosts school groups throughout the year. I understand that Boulder County is collectively feeling its way forward as we figure out how to handle growing operations, but it’s reasonable to assume that the proposed marijuana operation will not resemble a farm, given the industrial nature of the operation and the necessity for high security.   History suggests that marijuna growing operations will be targets for criminal activity, as both the plants and the cash associated with the operations (which do not yet have access to banking services) are highly attractive. Given this reality, it seems less than prudent to allow such a facility to be placed next to a site that frequently hosts students and campers. I respectfully ask that the grower be denied operating permits for the site.   To read more, access the following article.  http://www.dailycamera.com/boulder-county-news/ci_25726538/boulder-county-farm-owners-object-proposed-pot-greenhouses
