Finally! We have a mayor who says he’s on tenants’ side. 

Soon Bill de Blasio will be appointing five new members to the Rent Guidelines Board, which determines how much rents can go up each year. Last year de Blasio asked the RGB for a zero percent increase. 

Landlords have gotten rent increases every single year regardless of their costs, even as tenants have struggled to pay.
