Every year, over 100 rodeos are held in Colorado alone. Rodeos include cruel "sports" like goat tying, cattle roping, and bull riding: Goat tying: a person on a running horse ropes a terrified goat by the neck, pulling them backwards; usually breaking their ribs, neck, and even spine. The person gets off the horse and ties the goat’s legs together. They mount their horse and gallop around the corral with the dying goat dragging behind the horse. Cattle roping: a calf is put into a tiny cage and has its ears tugged to make it mad. It is continuously whipped while the gate is opening; as soon as it starts running a horse and rider comes in and ropes it, breaking its neck. It is dragged by its neck behind the horse to a fire where it is slaughtered and cooked. Bull riding: An abused bull is released from a pen with a rider on its back. The bull tries to get the rider off their back and when it does, usually injures or kills the rider.
