Ban Battery Cages for Chickens in The United States

North Easton, MA, United States
Created July 8, 2011

The Issue

According to a recent study conducted at the University of Bristol in England, chickens feel empathy for members of their own species. This finding, that chickens respond to emotional states of other birds, clearly has extensive implications for chickens in factory farming and for the future of animal welfare in general, especially since confining numerous chickens to battery cages causes severe distress for the birds.

Sign this petition urging your elected politicians to ban the use of battery cages in factory farms in the United States.
