Bad Billboard Legislation Heading to North Carolina

The Issue

The state legislature has two bills proposed by the billboard industry that would greatly hurt the bauty of North Carolina Highways. HELP STOP  THIS LEGISLATION !

Moving through the NC legislature is House Bill 309 and Senate Bill 183 that would allow a huge increas in the amount of CLEAR CUTTING that billboard companies would be allow to do....as much as 500 feet on either "view side" of a billboard.

Spacing between billboards is proposed to be changed to allow billboardsas close as 100 feet to each other in some areas.  On Interstate seven billboards per mile (754 feet beyween billboards) would be allowed !

This proposed legislation is amazing considering that several states have banned all billboards. We in North Carolina are going the wrong way. ......and all to please the handful of billboard owners who may be colossally enriched.

STOP this bill..Contact your state representative.........http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/GIS/Representation/Representation.html
