Auburn has one of the strongest aviation track records in the industry and the program is being dissolved. Our resources are being taken from us (only 1 tenured professor left and he will be leaving at the end of the semester), we are facing problems with accreditation, our flight facilities need repair, and the students are suffering from a lack of attention. We are the second oldest aviation program in the country and the oldest continuous aviation program. Since 1941 our alumni are represented in every aspect of the aerospace industry. The reason our program is struggling is because our resources are slowly being taken and distributed elsewhere. We are petitioning for the support of the aviation department and its two degree programs. We do not want to be shut down. This petition is led by the Auburn Aviation student body.
