From writing 'shoot first' laws like the one that resulted in the potentially guiltless killing of Trayvon Martin, to helping suppress voting across the United States, from lobbying for laws that reduce pension, pay and leave benefits for workers, to denying human caused climate change, from attempting to roll back women's reproductive freedom, to attacking the rights of immigrants in the United States, ALEC has been at the forefront of harming American democracy. Recently, bowing to pressure from those outraged over ALEC's destructive lobbying, Pepsi and Coca Cola have removed their funding for ALEC. We believe that AT&T and all other corporate funders of ALEC should follow suit.

This lobbying organization is too radical, too harmful, and too divisive. It has no place in our civil democracy. Stop the funding.
