Every year from July 1 to Nov. 15, takes place in Namibia's second largest slaughter of marine mammals in the world. Tens of thousands of seals are killed for commercial purposes. The quotas are increasing year by year. Added to this natural mortality, famine whose victims are sea lions because of overfishing and the enthusiasm of tourists encourage this cruelty. These cumulative events can lead to the annihilation of an entire population of young sea lions. In addition, hunters use particularly cruel and dangerous ways to achieve their goal. They collect sea lions on a parcel of land from the sea and then stab. The baby sea lions reject their mother's milk and slowly dying before succumbing. Hunters pull the skin of sea lions while some are still alive and conscious and cut the genitals of male adults to feed the Asian market aphrodisiac products. While South Africa has put an end to these barbaric practices in 1990, Namibia refuses to follow the example. I ask this petition to the Namibian government to immediately stop this massacre!
