Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth deserve to thrive in school and in life. But to thrive, they need to feel safe and confident. They need to see and be inspired by LGBT role models who are changing the world for the better. They need to feel like they belong. 

Ask your California State Legislators to support the FAIR Education Act, authored by Senator Mark Leno. This important Act, sponsored by Equality California and the GSA Network, would require social science classes to teach students about the contributions of LGBT people. It will also prevent the use of teaching materials that have negative images of people for being LGBT. This bill can give LGBT youth hope, both for the future and for their lives today.
