Ask Michelle Obama: Support Vegetarian and Vegan Meals with the Let's Move! Campaign

The Issue

Michelle Obama has expanded the White House organic garden, and began a campaign against obesity with the Let's Move! campaign. She's also an environmentalist, announcing recently that there will be solar panels on the White House.

Michelle could do good for both the nation's children and our environment if she helped promote vegetarian and vegan options within the platform of her Let's Move! campaign.

Right now, the Let's Move campaign advises "fewer calories, be more physically active, and make wiser food choices."

The Let's Move! site does not mention veganism, and only two PDF documents mention vegetarianism, and only briefly. These words need to hold a larger presence on the Let's Move website. Wiser food choices would be a plant-based diet built on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes.

A plant-based diet would not only be healthy for our nation's children, but would also reduce the nation's dependance on factory farming and improve the lives of millions of animals.

Ask Michelle Obama to help promote vegetarian and vegan options with her Let's Move! campaign.
