Upon discovering the outrageous cost medical providers charge the disabled patients for their medical records to support their Social Security Claim, I decided that something needs to change. Because a claim for Social Security is based on medical records, many individuals have been unable to prove their claim because they cannot afford to purchase their own records. Most states have a statute limiting charges, or offer a free copy of medical records to their patients - as they belong to the patient by right. We need to change Arizona law or Medical Provider policy to allow for patients to present their claims and be able to continue their medical care.
