St. Gabriel school is an important institution to the families living in that area. It is the only school of its kind with miles of its location. There are many students that walk to school everyday. At present the Archdiocese is planning on merging St. Gabriel and St. Thomas at St. Thomas' location of 18th and Morris Streets. This location is not reccomended due to safety issues. Just the other day a young man was attacked for no apparent reason.
