Anti-censorship of the arts and media in South Africa

Anti-censorship of the arts and media in South Africa

The Issue

The aim of this petiton is to ensure government policy in South Africa, regarding the arts and media, is just and reflects the will of the people. There has been much recent legislature ammendments passed regarding the subject that is bringing the country dangerously close to the censorship situation during apartheid (from which we are still recuperating, testimony to this matter exists at the National English Literary Museum in Grahamstown, http://oldwww.ru.ac.za/affiliates/nelm/ ). Testimony to the matter can be found here: http://www.fxi.org.za/content/view/14/28/
and http://www.fxi.org.za/

The problem needs to be addressed swiftly and urgently.
