For years, Tufts has mistreated survivors of sexual violence (see The Toast and Raped at Tufts). We hoped that President Monaco's Task Force would signify a change within the administration but recent events leave us frustrated and hurt by those we entrust to run our school.

The Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights (OCR) has found Tufts University in violation of Title IX. We were horrified to learn on April 28 that Tufts has rescinded its signature on the OCR's Voluntary Resolution Agreement. This is unacceptable. In rescinding their signature, Tufts betrays survivors on all of its campuses and puts itself at risk of losing all federal funding. Tufts must re-sign the agreement and take immediate action to come into compliance with federal law.
