The Animal Welfare Board of India is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act 1960(59 of 1960) was enacted in December 1960 with the object of preventing infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering to animals. The Govt. of India, Ministry of Food and Agriculture constituted the Animal Welfare Board of India on 19th March 1962.

People involved in the field of animal rights and their welfare are respectable but Major General Ram Mehar Khareb after retiring from the Indian Army managed Chairmanship of the Animal Welfare Board of India due to Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, as claimed by Ram Mehar Khareb.

Retired from Indian Army, Ram Mehar Singh Khareb adopting double standard and promoting animal abusers because he is practicing as a Veterinarian in the National capital region along with his son and daughter in law, occasionally they visit Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi Vadhera to see her pets. Now Ram Mehar Khareb enjoying many consecutive terms as Chairman, AWBI and start harassing, ignoring serious activist's in the field of animal rights and their welfare, so he may be removed immediately from the Chairmanship with out any further delay for natural justice to the animals because he is promoting many circuses, routine animal abuse, cruel animal transportation and he failed to perform his official duties, adopting double standard, harassment, biased techniques. Docked tail dogs, feather chopped birds and blind Hippo allowed to perform in Jumbo circus, effective activist was ignored and unskilled so called co-opted member were deputed to kill investigations against Jumbo circus.

Being an Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India - AWBI he isn't a Master of the animal welfare movement of India nor his retired army official team.
