There have been two fatal accidents in which pedestrians were hit by vechicles while crossing Route 1. We need to make it so that all pedestrians are directed towards the marked crosswalks so that incidences like these don't happen. Implementing a brick wall onto the edge of the sidewalk outside of Cornerstone and Bentley's, as one stands on the opposite side of Route 1, would deter pedestrians from walking out onto Route 1 without being on a crosswalk. This will greatly reduce the number of pedestrian-vehicle accidents on that part of Route 1 and might lead to further improvement so that pedestrian safety is upheld by the city.
