An innocent man needs your help! Help my family to fight injustice and free my brother from prison

The Issue

My brother Jack Nissalke has been very wrongly convicted of First Degree murder in a 25 year old cold case. There is a wealth of facts and evidence to prove not only his innocence, but also directly points to the real killers. We are asking Governor Dayton to review crucial evidence that was not seen at the trial, and issue him a pardon or a new trial.

My brothers case had no motive, no evidence and he had a solid alibi. Yet the prosecutors in my hometown of Winona, MN needed desperately to pin this crime on someone and were under pressure to solve it. The District Attorney went to the BCA and asked for $50,000 reward money.  After 20 years people started to recant the testimony that they gave in 1985 and changed their statements completely in hopes of receiving the reward money. With the alleged murderers already deceased, they let an innocent man take the fall.

There were so many errors and so much misconduct during and before the trial, I don't have enough room here to even begin to describe them to you. All I can ask is you take some time to refer to a blog being written that tells Jacks story.

This blog contains volumes of police evidence, interviews, photos, DNA reports, and personal accounts that PROVE my brother Jack was not involved in this heinous crime. My brother is a family man. An amazing father and grandfather. You too will see that this is a case of an innocent man in prison that does not belong there.

His appeal was seen by the Minnesota Supreme Court in November. We are still waiting to hear if he will be granted the new trial he deserves. There were many mistakes made by the court during his Grand Jury and his trial. Jurors did not get to hear very key evidence or key testimony. He did not have a fair trial in any sense of the word. All we ask is that he receives his constitutional right. We are asking the state to review his case and offer a pardon, or at least a new trial.

I realize this blog is long and there is a lot of information. But it is all proof that my brother should not be in prison. I am attaching a video made by the writer of the blog that begins to tell the story. Please take some time and review this evidence on our behalf. We are not sure where else to turn. Thank you very much for your valuable time.

Sincerely,
