Astrid Silva and Jamie Alegre are both students and DREAM activists but they’d never met, never spoken, never lived in the same city, and certainly never met each other’s parents. But, on September 20th, Jamie came across an urgent plea on Facebook asking for help for Astrid’s dad, who had been detained and placed in deportation proceedings.
Jamie took initiative and decided to launch a campaign on Change.org. Two days -- 594 signatures, and a last-minute petition delivery -- later, Astrid’s dad came home.
“It was a proof that distance shall never stop dreams and dreamers from being connected. I want others to know that it's not impossible to help someone just because they're far away,” says Jamie.
A hardworking father (to a friend and incredible activist) who has helped make our country better and has been a law abiding citizen, Cesar Carlos Silva, could be deported on Thursday morning. TAKE ACTION! Send a message to authorities, and remind them our immigration system is BROKEN!

Honorable Senators;
A hardworking father who has helped make our country better and has been a law abiding citizen, Cesar Carlos Silva, could be deported on Thursday morning. We, as the undersigned , write to humbly ask that you take action to immediately stop the deportation of Cesar Carlos Silva (A# 75479315).
Cesar Silva, a husband and hardworking father to two children was detained by immigration authorities last week, and is now facing deportation this coming Thursday morning.
Mr. Silva has been a law abiding citizen throughout his entire life, and stay in the United States. Unfortunately, he like many others before him was a victim of a scam by a unlicensed attorney, or at least not licensed to practice in the state of Nevada. Mr. Silva was only trying to do the right thing to adjust his immigration status to remain legally in the United States.
Astrid Silva, Mr. Silva's daughter and a Dreamer, is a passionate activist with a heart of gold who has fought tirelessly for her community, and country that she calls home the United States. Astrid Silva recently graduated with a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Las Vegas Nevada with an impressive resume of community service. Astrid is a well known activists, and perhaps Southern Nevada's most active young adult who genuinely dedicates her life to improving her community, with his father as his inspiration.
Mr. Silva is now facing an unfair deportation due to the misrepresentation of an unlicensed attorney. Mr. Silva is by no means a criminal, and deserves an opportunity remain in the United States with his family under the announcement made by Secretary Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security last August.
Please take an immediate action and help stop the deportation of a good man Cesar Carlos Silva.

Sincerely,
