Allow Saudi women to participate in the 2012 London Summer Olympics.

Allow Saudi women to participate in the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
The Issue
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Allow Saudi Women To Participate In The 2012 London Summer Olympics.
----------------
Allow Saudi Women To Participate In The 2012 London Summer Olympics!
During the 2012 Summer Olympic Games everyone has the right to play - regardless of their gender!
In six months the 2012 Summer Olympics will open in London with great festivals and bring various countries and ethnicities together for a great cultural exchange under the mutual love for sports.
However, Saudi Arabia has never fielded a woman on its national Olympic team, and effectively imposes a ban on girls and women playing sports in the kingdom.
Saudi women have been long marginalized in society as second class citizens. Women in Saudi have been denied many most basic human rights, and the right to participate in global sport competitions is among them.In Saudi, women have been prevented from taking part in elite sports, play, or even participate in physical education. In fact, women are not even allowed to attend sport matches despite the huge popularity of sports such as soccer among both sexes in the country.
In the past, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has gotten tough when it banned South Africa during apartheid and Afghanistan during Taliban rule.
Yet, this week, the IOC shockingly announced that it will not condition Saudi Arabia's membership in the Olympic movement on sending women to the Olympic Games. In taking this position, it violates its own values and rules, as well as rules of international law.
Therefore, we are urgently calling on the IOC to uphold and enforce its own rules to ensure that the ban gender and human rights discrimination, in the Olympic Charter, be upheld so that Saudi women's have the full and equal right to participate in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Specifically, we urge on the IOC to 1) reverse its decision and condition Saudi Arabia's membership in the Olympic movement on sending women to the Olympic Games and 2) stand up for the Olympic ideals of human dignity and women's rights and demand that Saudi Arabia permit access to women in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
As the countdown to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games begins, it is a critical time for us to support women's rights around the world and gather our voices and let the International Olympic Committee hear our cry for equal rights for women.
We urge you to sign this petition and let the IOC know that the Olympic ideals of human dignity and gender equity are shared by all of us and that it is time for the Olympic movement to find its voice and demand access for Saudi Arabia’s women to the 2012 Summer Olympics.
