I, Michael Springer, a resident of the town of Coeymans, do hereby present to my fellow Americans and town residents of Ravena, Coeymans, Selkirk, and outlying areas as well as around the nation/ world,  to allow a Gay and Straight Alliance Organization in the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Central School District, mainly the RCS Junior/Senior High Schools.  I feel that the time has come for ALL students to express how they feel openly and without fear of being harassed or judged.  I am a 1994 graduate and I feel that on behalf of the RCS School District, I should stand up and make my voice heard. I speak on behalf of ALL LGBT students because I am gay, and I feel that WE need to make our voices heard and FIGHT for the rights we do so richly deserve, to love whom we want, marry whom we want.

The time is NOW!! The more people speak up/out, the more we make a difference not only in our lives, but for the lives of others and others around the world. Write your Senators/Representatives, Mayors, Governors, whomever, but PLEASE I urge you all to act NOW.

The time has come for all students to feel safe in being who they are, to express their feelings/thoughts/opinions and make a difference in not only their lives, but the lives of OTHER LGBT students and to their community.
